Why Spy Pig

One career for life is a thing of the past. Most of us will change direction and learn new skills more than once.

The story

A pig who wanted to be a spy.

Pigs are noisy. They get muddy. They leave tracks everywhere. Nobody would pick one to be a spy.

Ours didn't let that stop him. He put on the coat, picked up the magnifying glass and kept practising. He's still a bit muddy. He still leaves tracks. And he's getting good at it.

Your makeup doesn't decide what you can do. It shows you where you're starting from.

With enough practice and dedication, you can get good at almost anything. Spy Pig helps you see your starting point clearly, so you can choose where to go next.

What we believe

Fit the work to you, not you to the work.

Life is about being a lifelong learner, and a lifelong questioner of what gives you energy and makes you happy. Spy Pig is built to help you ask those questions, and keep asking them.

  1. Stay a learner for life. Keep asking what gives you energy. The answer will change as you do, and that's a good thing.
  2. Start with what makes you happy. Find what lights you up first, then shape your work around it. Not the other way around.
  3. Make work feel like play. When you enjoy what you do, you put in more without forcing it. You get better, faster, and people notice.
  4. Good work looks after itself. Do something well, for people who value it, and the rewards tend to follow.
  5. There's no single ladder anymore. One career for life isn't the path it used to be. Most of us will have several. You get to draw your own path, and redraw it.
The old way

One ladder. One direction. Climb it or fall off.

Your way

Your own trail. Learn, try, reflect, change tack, grow. Then go again.

What it is

An awareness piece, not an instruction manual.

Spy Pig never tells you what you should do. It shows you what might suit you, and gives you small, practical ways to find out for yourself.

  • A way to manage your next stepsA pathway from this week to a five-year picture, with small steps you can start now.
  • Yours, and only yoursIt lives on your phone. You choose if and when to share it.

What Spy Pig isn't

  • A verdict on your lifeIt suggests places to look. You decide what's worth exploring.
  • Medical or diagnosticIt's about personality and interests only.
How it works

Tap the pig. Answer honestly. Get your file.

  1. Tap the pig

He heads off down the alley and stops to take a closer look through his magnifying glass.

  2. Tell him where you're at

Just starting out, at school, studying or training, or working and changing tack.

  3. 111 quick taps

About twelve minutes, and when two things you love come out neck and neck, a quick head to head settles it. Watch your muddy hoofprints walk around the screen as you go.

  4. Get your file

Read it on your phone, follow your pathway, and save a PDF or a summary card to share.

What you get

From fun to serious, in one file.

It starts with the fun stuff and gets more useful as you scroll. The last part is the bit you act on.

Just for fun

Your house, your spy codename, and which of 44 TV characters you're most like. Each one reads a different mix of your answers, so they don't all say the same thing.

How you play

Team or solo, inside or out, for fun or to win. Sports and games that fit.

How you learn

On your own, one-on-one or in a group, and where you get your energy.

The mirror

An honest read: your strengths, your blind spot, and things you told the pig.

Where you could go

Three ways in: start your own thing, work with your hands, or study.

Your pathway

This week, this month, this quarter, next year, and a five-year picture.

FunSerious
Act Reflect Check in Retake See whatmoved Keep going it's a loop, not a finish line
The loop

You learn by doing, then looking back.

Spy Pig isn't a one-off quiz. It's a sounding board you come back to.

  1. Act. Try the small steps in your pathway: a club, a conversation, a mini project.
  2. Reflect. For each step: how did you do it, what did you think, what did you find out about yourself?
  3. Check in. What did you learn? What did you like, and what didn't you? Is there anything you'd answer differently now?
  4. Retake when you're ready. People change, especially between 13 and 25.
  5. See what moved. Spy Pig compares your results over time, so you can see how you're growing.
For anyone

Any age. Any starting point.

Pick the stage that fits you today. It shapes the clubs, courses, books and steps you're shown, and you pick it fresh each time you take the quiz.

Changing tack?

Work is changing. Your edge is you.

AI and automation are changing a lot of work, especially routine desk work. Plenty of people are asking what comes next, and whether the skills they built still count.

They do. Spy Pig helps you see them differently: not as a job title, but as the strengths you carry into anything. It points you at directions where people still matter most, like hands-on trades, care and coaching, creative direction, running your own thing, and being the person who checks the system is right.

And it shows you how to make AI your sidekick instead of your replacement.

  • Your human edge. What's hard to automate about the way you work.
  • Strengths that travel. The skills you take into any job, study or business.
  • Directions with a human edge. Real options matched to what you'd enjoy.
  • A pathway to test it. Small, low-risk steps before you leap.
The energy loop

When you're happy in your work, you put in more.

  1. Work that gives you energy
  2. You put in more without forcing it
  3. You get better, faster
  4. People notice, and they benefit too
  5. Better opportunities find you

Spy Pig finds what gives you energy, so you can point more of your week at it and get the loop turning.
